Hershel K. Swinger, Ph.D.

Dr. Hershel Swinger is Senior Vice President Emeritus at CII and a professor of Counselor Education at California State University Los Angeles. He is also a licensed clinical psychologist with over 30 years experience in developing programs and treating individuals and families involved with violence and substance abuse. Dr. Swinger is a Project Director for Project FatherhoodSM and has developed a father-specific intervention which will reduce intra-familial, gang and community violence. He has served on many national and local boards of organizations designed to treat at-risk children and families. Dr. Swinger is a nationally recognized trainer and expert in the cultural aspects of intra-familial violence, community violence and drug abuse.
